Race Day Plan
I barely made it out of my pajamas yesterday. I got out of bed and put on running clothes, which honestly are not that different from pajamas, considering that I wear old running t-shirts and sweatpants to bed. The running clothes were as far as I got in my intention to run four miles yesterday. Had I not been utterly exhausted from the night before--or raining--I might have gone. So we stayed inside all day trying to recover from all this teeth cutting.
This morning I entertained thoughts of squeezing in a two-miler, with hopes that that might be a good final push to make me feel prepared for Saturday's 10K. But, luckily, I thought better and have since showered and made it into "normal clothes." I will rest today as prescribed by my running plan.
As far as my race-day plan and schemes of cop-out, I've decided to run with my sister. This will be her first 10K and she asked me to run along side her and "push" her to do better. She's hoping for nine minute miles. It will be fun to run with someone else, since pretty much all the races I've ever done have been by myself. Even though she's asked me to push her I have a feeling she may be the one doing the pushing.
