Healthy Summer Snacking with Hood Cottage Cheese

Move over avocado toast! There’s a new trio in town and it packs a protein-powered punch thanks to Hood Cottage Cheese. It seems that Avocado Toast is old news now, so why not give these Cottage Cheese toasts a try?

Adding Hood Cottage Cheese to toast is the perfect way to ensure you’re getting the calcium and protein that your body needs. And with 10 delicious flavors and 7 single serve options, the sky is the limit when it comes to crafting toasty creations. I’ve honed in on three of my favorites: Hood Original Country Style Cottage Cheese, Hood Maple & Vanilla flavored Cottage Cheese and Hood’s latest savory option, Cucumber Dill Cottage Cheese. Easy to assemble and ready in a snap, these sweet and savory toasts are a great way to fuel your day no matter when: morning, noon or night!
Caprese Toast
A twist on a Caprese salad, Hood Original (Country Style) Cottage cheese pairs nicely with tomatoes and fresh basil. A drizzle of olive oil, balsamic vinegar and some salt and pepper make this complete.
1 slice whole grain or sprouted grain toast
1/4 cup Hood Original Country Style Cottage Cheese
3-4 Baby tomatoes sliced
2 tsp basil chopped
salt & pepper
drizzle of olive oil
1. Toast bread
2. assemble toast by spooning cottage cheese on to toast and topping with tomato, basil, seasoning and finish by drizzling with olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
Maple Walnut Blueberry Toast
Hood’s Maple & Vanilla Cottage Cheese is the perfect backdrop for fresh blueberries and the crunch of walnuts.
1 slice whole grain or sprouted toast
1/4 Hood Maple & Vanilla flavored Cottage Cheese
small handful of Blueberries
Chopped walnuts
1. Toast bread
2. Assemble toast by spooning cottage cheese onto toast and topping with blueberries and walnuts.
Cucumber Citrus Toast
Start with the Hood’s Cucumber and Dill Cottage Cheese and set off the cool flavors of cucumber and a slice of lemon with a pinch of sea salt.
1 Slice whole grain or sprouted grain toast
1/4 cup Hood Cottage Cheese Cucumber Dill
1 small, thinly sliced cucumber
thinly sliced wedge of lemon
sea salt
1. Toast bread
2. Assemble toast by spooning cottage cheese on to toast. Then place cucumber slices across the cottage cheese and squeeze lemon juice on top to finish. Season with salt and pepper.
