Brunch Strata: Traditional Recipe for a Festive Family Meal

This post was created in partnership with Pete and Gerry's Organic Eggs.

Every Christmas morning, the tree is lit, Christmas music playing, festive jammies on, coffee mug in hand and a full plate of Christmas brunch. And on that plate are traditional recipes my Mom and Grandma have passed down, plus a few touches of our own.

I love tradition. I love the connection I feel when I knead the dough for my mom’s Sticky Buns or crack the eggs for my Grandma’s Strata. It brings back memories of New England Christmases as a child or the years my husband and I spent in Arizona sharing Christmas with my Grandparents, where you have to make it feel like Christmas on a warm desert day.

This year, for each recipe I’ll be using Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs adding another family’s ‘history,’ rich in tradition, to my own. It’s Pete and Gerry’s Organic Egg’s commitment to family farms and quality products as well as our own family’s connection to the owner’s family that keeps us reaching for Pete and Gerry’s Organic Eggs whenever we shop the grocery store. Plus, the trusty “Certified Organic” label puts my mind at ease and ensures I’m feeding my family the best quality eggs.

  5. Tear or cut brioche loaf into 1 inch cube chunks. Spread on bottom of baking dish.

  6. Pour egg, pepper, onion, and sausage over the bread. Sprinkle cheese on top and bake for 45-50 min or until golden brown and bubbling on top.
