Spring Race Line-Up and The Lifestyle Accountability Show

With a few solid training weeks under my belt and my hamstring holding up quite well, I went ahead and registered for a few spring races. I'm excited to have fun at some of the shorter races and really give a spring marathon, the Sugarloaf Marathon, my best effort. Here's a look at my racing schedule: March 15th Pursuit of the Holy Grail 5K

March 16th St. Paddy's Day 5 Miler (I'll be pacing a friend.)

March 30th Eastern States 20 Miler

April 6th Todd's Trott 5K

May 18th Sugarloaf Marathon

I'm most excited about the Sugarloaf Marathon, it's a point to point course through Maine. The course looks challenging in the first half with a hill around the 8 mile mark. Though it looks like a piece-of-cake down hill from that point on, I've heard from people who've run the course before that the last 16 miles, though a total elevation loss, have a few rolling hills.

All marathons are challenging, but this one is small (I like that), scenic, simple (there are no turns) and has the potential to be a lot of fun!

A strong 15.5 mile run this weekend (and my best run of the week), made me feel a little more confident about training for a spring marathon. The loop was a challenging one and I wasn't sure I'd be able to run it the way I hoped, but I did and then some. t was able to string together a four up-tempo miles in the middle of my run (7:37, 7:36, 7:42, 7:40) right after an 800 ft elevation climb. Th felt smooth and relatively easy. I finished off the run feeling confident and ready to take my weekly mileage higher.

Last month I had the chance to chat with Adam Bate of the Lifestyle Accountability Show. According to Adam, "The Lifestyle Accountability Show is a daily podcast where we interview individuals who have decided to make health and fitness a priority in their lives. It is all about inspiring millions to take action. We want to help you reclaim your health and fitness and reach your goals."

I'm honored that Adam thought my story: mostly my recovery from an eating disorder and the way that I've found balance with food and fitness since then is inspiring. We had a chance to chat about that and all things related to running. If you're interested you can listen HERE. While you're there spend sometime browsing the other podcasts, there are some incredibly inspirational stories!

What spring races are on your calendar? Do you listen to podcasts? If so, what kinds to you listen to and how are they helpful/valuable to you?
