In the Stillness You are There
I love running, but that doesn't make it easy. There are some runs that are hard, painful, a struggle for every step. Such was my run last Thursday. I slogged wearily through every mile. But some runs, every once in a while become a quiet meditation, a prayer. That was my Friday run. A dusting of snow had covered the ground and was lightly falling when I stepped out into the dark morning. I pulled my way up the hill and onto one of may favorite roads, falling into a nice easy pace. It was quiet. So quiet, all I heard was the snow landing and the soft shuffle of my stride. I love those moments where you forget your body, you forget the effort and you just go. It's in that stillness that I find God and the peace he so freely gives.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your heart be troubled and do not be afraid." John 14:27
