About

A former English teacher-turned-entrepreneur, I leveraged my love of writing and running to create Rise Run Retreat, one of the premier women’s running retreats in the US. After nearly a decade of leading retreats, I’ve pivoted back to my writing roots and am building a community over on Substack with my weekly newsletter, Out of Bounds where I explore life outside the lines. 

I was a contributing writer for Women’s Running Magazine, and my work has appeared in Runner’s World, Vine Leaves Press, and Brevity, and I have been featured in The New York Times, Washington Post, and Outside among others. My fiction was a semifinalist for the pilot filming of America’s Next Great Author and was long-listed for the Tall Poppy Writers fiction pitch contest. In 2024, I was awarded a writing residency at Shannaghe in Belfast, Maine, and was accepted into the Yale Writer’s Workshop.

I live with my husband and three children in rural New Hampshire, where I am attempting to grow as many lupines as possible.
